Photoinduced interlayer dynamics in <i>T</i><sub>d</sub>-MoTe<sub>2</sub>: A broadband pump-probe study

We report on time-resolved broadband transient reflectivity (tr-bb-TR) measurements performed a bulk single crystal of T$_d$-MoTe$_2$ as function the incident pump fluence (F). Tr-bb-TR data unveil photoinduced electronic changes progressing sub-picosecond timescale well dynamics coherent low-frequency $^1A_1$ interlayer shear phonon. Our results indicate gradual evolution both TR and Fourier intensity spectra F, ruling out threshold-like change that has been associated with ultrafast $T_d \to 1T'$ phase transition. also observe large redshift spectral features, which suggests renormalization effects are taking place interband transitions dielectrically susceptible to phonon displacement.
